Upcoming Projects for 2024-2025
Hyper-Homunculus
This project is about reflecting deeply on what my body represents to me. I’m trying to draw out a depiction of myself focused not on my mental or emotional state, but as a physical object, which I realise I have hardly known at all until now.
I am taking a lot of time to sit with these reflections, even when they are uncomfortable, so I can move away from more abstract, intellectualised representations, and turn instead to an image of me in a balanced way.
I want to “look” at what I don’t like about myself, and own those things honestly, and then depict them as fully as possible.
This project will be a collection of poems and likely an album after that.
The Deep
In this project I’m making music about beings that endure, live, and perhaps even celebrate extreme isolation.
I’m focused on two specific beings in particular— incredible different in some respects, but both fascinating to me for their similarities in the worlds they inhabit.
One is a whale, miles under the ocean surface, comfortably living in an environment that is probably as close to another world from mine as there could be on Earth.
The other is the Voyager 1 probe, racing out deeper and deeper into interstellar space, failing in the cold as it pushes forward into absolute dark.
